Notes for Your Stay
- Cleaning: Please contact Nicholls & David (caretakers) at 508-400-7719 within 24 hours of your arrival if there are any issues with the cleanliness of the house. Common courtesy dictates that the house should be left in a similar condition to when you arrived. Please strip the beds you have used and place the sheets and towels on the washing machine and start the first load. Turnover cleaning will be deducted from the security deposit if the costs incurred are in excess of the average cleaning necessary to assure the house is ready for the next guest
- Recycling / trash removal: Recycling is strictly enforced and is mandatory on the island. Santos Rubbish Removal (508-228-4395) comes to pick up our trash every Tuesday and Friday at 7:00 a.m. the instructions for sorting the trash are posted in the cabinets underneath the kitchen sink. Trash removal on Nantucket is a highly organized and somewhat extreme process, so all trash needs to be sorted properly, or they simply will NOT remove the trash
- We have separate garbage cans under the kitchen sink for glass, plastics/tins/aluminums and household garbage; please remove these clear plastic bags and place them in the corresponding cans behind the shed in our yard these are the pails which will be emptied by Santos
- If you want a special pick-up by Santos, call them at 508-228-4395. The one-time pick-up charge of $20 will be taken out of your security deposit
- Please be advised that costs associated with non-compliance to the island recycling policy will be deducted from the security deposit
- Utilities: The phone is toll restricted from outgoing, direct dial long distance calls. If renting for one month or longer, you will be charged for all utilities (Electric, Gas & Water) except Cable TV
- No pets (owner is severely allergic) and no smoking
Other Thoughts
- 36 Pine is 195 years old; please respect this historic home. It is not perfect but, with the right type of guest, we hope to not only maintain its charm but augment it. The guest book in the foyer is a great place for you to communicate your feedback
- Our neighbors are understandably fearful of renters; please respect our neighbor’s privacy and help us alleviate their concerns
